What “it” means to “YOU”

By Bryan

My Mentor sent this to me and it reminded me of what’s important in life. It’s why I enjoy working with people, to pass on what I’ve learned to them so they can improve their life.

I wanted to share this and hope it will help you have the courage to follow your dreams…Enjoy!

Not long ago . . .

I had a full weekend of reconnecting
with a couple friends from college to
think about how profound this really is.

Friday night, in preparation for the
Duke vs. Georgetown basketball game I
hung out Chris Duhon (now plays for the
Knicks) and Reggie Love (our president’s
right hand man) and well, you know what?

It’s really good to revisit friends who
are now living their dreams. Chris
always wanted to play in the NBA and now
he is, and Reggie, well, hanging out
with the President on a daily basis, not
doing bad for a 27 year old guy.

The cool thing is, these guys are the
same people they were way back when.

Seeing this made me reflect on an
important conversation I had Thursday
night with a good friend and business
partner Mark Hoverson.

He’s a guy who’s gone from way past
broke, paid the price, and . . .

On a “rinky dinky” $250 computer on his
kitchen table created $3.2 million
dollar business in a little over two
years.

What a difference a little time and
determination makes.

That conversation was groundbreaking to
me. See . . .

I was filling Mark in on what I was
doing to help my team to succeed in our
business and he said something I WILL
never forget and I want you to remember
too:

“Over the last few years I’ve really
redefined what success means.

When I began, it was all about the
money. If I helped them (my partners)
make money I felt good.

Today that’s really not that important.

Daegan, what I’ve realized, that I think
will be helpful for you, is that it’s not
about the money or the stats at the end
of the day.

It’s about the breakthrough moments you
help people achieve.

For one person that break through may
just be their first few leads, for
another it might be their first sale,
and for yet another it may be something
totally different, but here’s what I
know now that I didn’t know then.

The money is secondary.

It’s about the emotions that drive a
person to feel positively about their
growth to personal discovery.

Set smaller hurdles Daegan.

Celebrate each and every one of them
with your new friends and business
partners and your business will take on
a whole new meaning.”

Now . . .

Parts I always knew deep down, but had
never been able to verbalize in the way
Mark had for me.

It’s always these moments of insight
we tend to remember. Something we
“almost” know but don’t know how to say
ourselves.

Those are the insights that lead to
truly great achievement once acted upon.

When I think back, it’s not the BIG
money days that I really remember. It’s
that first lead, that first sale, that
first team member to duplicate . . .

These are my memories of extreme joy and
growth.

Moments of vigorous psychological
awakening. These moment ARE the life
changing breakthroughs.

Not the more “Visible” successes to
come after.

I share this insight with you so that
you don’t lose sight of, or miss label
them either – for yourself, or those
you will help ascend the prosperity
ladder.

To the top,

Daegan
