How Do I Get Started?

By Bryan · Comments (1)

I’ve been hearing this a lot from the new people I’m working with. This may be the hardest part for people just starting their business. They start hearing terms like PPC, Solo-Ads, Banner Ads, etc. It gets overwhelming with so many choices and you just can’t take that first step.

You start to wonder what am I doing. Then you get a reminder why you wanted to start a business in the first place. Maybe a bill comes in the mail and you wonder how you will get the money to pay it. That’s why you started your business. To make a change in your financial future. To have more free time to enjoy family and friends.

A great way to start is with article marketing, and the best place to go is http://ezinearticles.com/.

As you create and post articles to share your knowledge with people they will want to know how to find out more about you. The articles will continue to send traffic long after it’s posted. (you will also need to buy a domain and forward the traffic, but this is for a different topic) This way you can post in different categories about different subjects that relate and have visitors go to the same website.

Another great way to get started is to post on Forums. When you share knowledge with others they will look at you as a leader. Let them know that they can visit your website for more information. Even if they choose not to, helping others will still benefit you down the road in ways you won’t believe. If your just starting then what a great place to start learning. An entire group that is talking about the product or service your interested in or want to promote.

That’s what networking is about, connecting with people, exchanging ideas and information for everyone to benefit from. Now, GO GET STARTED!!!

Now, if you want to find out where I get my training from and learn from the best then follow this link.

My Mentor sent this to me and it reminded me of what’s important in life. It’s why I enjoy working with people, to pass on what I’ve learned to them so they can improve their life.

I wanted to share this and hope it will help you have the courage to follow your dreams…Enjoy!

Not long ago . . .

I had a full weekend of reconnecting
with a couple friends from college to
think about how profound this really is.

Friday night, in preparation for the
Duke vs. Georgetown basketball game I
hung out Chris Duhon (now plays for the
Knicks) and Reggie Love (our president’s
right hand man) and well, you know what?

It’s really good to revisit friends who
are now living their dreams. Chris
always wanted to play in the NBA and now
he is, and Reggie, well, hanging out
with the President on a daily basis, not
doing bad for a 27 year old guy.

The cool thing is, these guys are the
same people they were way back when.

Seeing this made me reflect on an
important conversation I had Thursday
night with a good friend and business
partner Mark Hoverson.

He’s a guy who’s gone from way past
broke, paid the price, and . . .

On a “rinky dinky” $250 computer on his
kitchen table created $3.2 million
dollar business in a little over two
years.

What a difference a little time and
determination makes.

That conversation was groundbreaking to
me. See . . .

I was filling Mark in on what I was
doing to help my team to succeed in our
business and he said something I WILL
never forget and I want you to remember
too:

“Over the last few years I’ve really
redefined what success means.

When I began, it was all about the
money. If I helped them (my partners)
make money I felt good.

Today that’s really not that important.

Daegan, what I’ve realized, that I think
will be helpful for you, is that it’s not
about the money or the stats at the end
of the day.

It’s about the breakthrough moments you
help people achieve.

For one person that break through may
just be their first few leads, for
another it might be their first sale,
and for yet another it may be something
totally different, but here’s what I
know now that I didn’t know then.

The money is secondary.

It’s about the emotions that drive a
person to feel positively about their
growth to personal discovery.

Set smaller hurdles Daegan.

Celebrate each and every one of them
with your new friends and business
partners and your business will take on
a whole new meaning.”

Now . . .

Parts I always knew deep down, but had
never been able to verbalize in the way
Mark had for me.

It’s always these moments of insight
we tend to remember. Something we
“almost” know but don’t know how to say
ourselves.

Those are the insights that lead to
truly great achievement once acted upon.

When I think back, it’s not the BIG
money days that I really remember. It’s
that first lead, that first sale, that
first team member to duplicate . . .

These are my memories of extreme joy and
growth.

Moments of vigorous psychological
awakening. These moment ARE the life
changing breakthroughs.

Not the more “Visible” successes to
come after.

I share this insight with you so that
you don’t lose sight of, or miss label
them either – for yourself, or those
you will help ascend the prosperity
ladder.

To the top,

The biggest mystery to most home
business entrepreneurs is how to create
a profitable front end product if
they’re not yet expert enough to say “I
make a ton of dough and recruit like
crazy.”

The truth is you don’t have to be a big
shot to create your first three
profitable products.

I know. I know. You don’t believe me,
so let me explain why.

So the first thing you need to
understand & own is you don’t need to be
the “Grand Puba” of marketing to create
a product of value that people will
happily pay you for.

The second thing is simply follow my
lead through this stair step process,
and . . .

The third thing we need to remember is
that network marketers are concerned
about three things only:

1. Getting more leads

2. Making more money

3. Recruiting without rejection

And that’s good! Because we can stair
step our way to our first three products
knowing this.

The first thing you do is get good at
getting leads in one way or another. The
easiest path is to choose a free method
from the sales and persuasion
standpoint.

People love free and network marketing
love leads. Putting the two together is
like dynamite.

Document your success in getting leads
and then one day do a free webinar and
show a few people what you do and record
it.

First product created.

Next, you create an irresistible offer
sales video to sell that product. If you
don’t know you can use my “Ultimate
Video Sales And Recruiting Video
Formula” here:

http://bit.ly/bGjF5s

Then you get to selling.

Once you make sales you teach people how
you did in your second product.

How? You do a free webinar for your now
customers and record it.

Simply walk them through your steps to
profiting online and share fully and
completely and you’re gold.

Create another irresistible sales video
and you’ve got product number two in
your funnel done.

Meanwhile back at the farm what you
should be doing is calling your
customers asking how you can be of
further assistance.

Share and help all that you can.
Naturally they’ll ask you what you’re up
to and . . .

If you so choose you can introduce
them to your back-end opportunity.

What have you just now done?

Recruited without rejection.

Once you’ve got that process down pat
guess what you do?

You guessed it, hold another webinar for
your customers and share with them your
insights and strategies.

Now if you want to get tricky, give them
the opportunity to get your edited
webinar recording for free in exchange
for their feedback.

Now you’ve created testimonials too.

Sales video it up, and you’ve got three
products in your funnel starting from
scratch.

Anyone can do this, and so can you. So
get started!

Here it is:

On the surface, network marketing companies appear to be
thriving communities of consuming customers all happy with
the product that they are consuming and they really are, but
what drives that community of thriving consumers has
absolutely nothing to do with the product itself.

Let’s think about this statement.

Let me ask you a question:

Why did you decided to get started in a network marketing
business?

You don’t have to say anything out loud but answer this
question in your head right now to yourself.

I guarantee you answer is somewhere along these lines “Well,
I started my business because I wanted to make some extra
money and who knows maybe even become financially free.”

Am I right?

Well let me ask you another question now.

When you prospect and talk to leads about your business what
do you talk to them about?

Most likely you try to stick to the corporate script which
inevitable ends up with your prospect asking you questions
about your network marketing companies products or services.

And by the end of the conversation you’ve lost control of
the call and both you and your prospect end up confused
(usually get somewhere between details about your companies
product or service and the compensation plan).

You get of the phone and hope that my some grace of god your
prospect you paid $5 to confuse will decided to join your
business.

Likely story!

Here’s why:

Successful Network Marketing has NOTHING to do with selling
your prospect on your product at ALL!

To the contrary, the only thing that you should EVER talk to
your prospect about is the same thing that got you sold on
your companies business . . . More Money and Financial
Freedom!

You see network marketing is built on financial hopes and
dreams and honestly, if you’re looking for business builders
to recruit into your organization your prospects hopes and
dreams of financial success are the only thing that you
should speak to them about, so they can sell themselves on
it.

As an illustration of this principle think about the
situation this way, if you had equal amounts of your
company’s product in one hand and money in the other which
do you think your prospect would choose?

The top money earners know the answer to that question and
that’s how why make all there money!

Here’s the other shift in perspective that you’re going to
have to make if you want to have ultimate success with your
business and it’s simply a logical continuation on the point
just discussed.

What you think of as your company’s product is NOT its real
product at ALL!

Do you think your network marketing company’s product is its
moon juice or long distance service?

If you do you’re very wrong.

Continuing on from my last point, remember your network
marketing business will not grow if you just push product it
will only grow if you sell people on their financial
dreams.

So if you think about it, your company’s real product is
it’s sales training and marketing system. The better your
company’s marketing system is able to help you generate
sales the better any more quickly you will be able to reap
the financial benefits of your business.

To extend this point further, eventually you’ll want your
downline to do all the work so you don’t have to.

The simpler and more effective the marketing system plus the
strong the training your company provides the easier your
system will duplicate.

If you want to think about it in its most simple form, your
company’s real product is its duplicability.

If you find a system that is easy to duplicate and you can
have your prospect “sell themselves” on their financial
dreams you will have a highly successful network marketing
business.

Your Job is Simple:

Find people that want to attain financial freedom your way
and then shorten their learning curve so that they can go
out and do the same.

Discover how to earn a whopping $4,567,09 per month in your
spare time even if nobody joins your MLM business. Forget
cold calling. Forget those home meetings. In fact, forget
everything you’ve ever been taught about building a solid
income in Network Marketing from the “gurus”. Let this 25-
yr “unknown” marketer show you how he built an organization
of over 4,120 in 14 short months without making one phone
call! ==> http://bit.ly/bGjF5s

Most people would say that two jobs are just twice as much work.  They would be right, but having two jobs can be a bigger benefit then you may think.

1.  Having two jobs gives you another source of income.  If anything happens to your primary job then you will already have the second job to take up the slack and give you some breathing room until you can find another job or maybe decide to see where you can take this secondary job.

2.  The second job allows you to experiment on ideas, hobbies, learn new skills without having to jump in all the way.  After you have some experience with the second job you may find out that it’s not a good fit or you may realize that you are happier doing it then your primary job.

3.  Use the additional income to pay off ALL debt.  It will be a great feeling when you don’t have to worry about bills and realize how much extra cash you have at the end of the month.

Having two jobs IS a lot of work but just think of the reward at the end of the journey…

I came across this article that I hope will help people get started making improvements in their lives:

Are you totally happy with your life? It wouldn’t surprise me if your initial response was to ask the question “Is anyone totally happy with their life?” Fair comment. So let me rephrase the question. “Is there any area of your life right now that you are not happy with?” Is that a better question?

You may be one of the fortunate ones who can say they are happy in every area of their life. However, I bet you are like most people in our society, who are probably unhappy with one or more areas of their lives. If that is the case, let me talk to you about personal development.

Before I move on it may be useful to offer a definition of personal development. I decided to do some research on the internet and Google the term personal development. I was surprised to find that there were not really that many sites that offered a definition, although there were many adverts promoting personal development. I shouldn’t be surprised because Marketdata a research firm has estimated that the personal development industry is set to grow at a rate of 11.4 yearly through to 2010, to a value of $13.9 billion.

“Personal development is the deliberate growth or development of a particular individual to bring out their potential and capabilities making them more aware of their inner feelings, belief systems to become a more conscious, whole or healthy human being”.

I know that probably seems like a mouthful but it seemed to encompass my own thoughts about what personal development is. I decided to ask my partner to offer a definition:

“Strategies that enable me to enhance my life in all areas”

Now I do like this definition because it says what it is, simply and succinctly. The thing about personal development, is that it means different things to different people. When someone embarks on the journey of personal development, it maybe that they have chosen to improve their health, relationships, career prospects, finances etc. Sometime people talk about the mind, body and spirit, or physical, emotional and spiritual.

So how do you get started on the road to personal development? Well, first of all become aware of what you already have in your life and what you are grateful for and then think about what is missing, what do you want, I mean really want. Awareness has to come first, because without an awareness there can be no conscious decision to take action. Becoming aware also means asking yourself different questions and then seeking out the answers. So if your question is “There must be more to life than this?” your mind is already making an assumption that there is more to life and as if by magic you start to see things around you that maybe you did not notice before.

Below I have put together my top 10 strategies that I use regularly to keep myself motivated. As a bonus I contacted some of my friends within the personal development field and asked them to give me their top 3 personal development books and created a top 10 list. I hope this helps you to get started.

1. Take time everyday to do something for yourself. This is so fundamental. Many people go through their day giving of themselves to other people, their job etc. and don’t have time for themselves. Even if you give yourself 15 minutes, that is time with yourself to reflect and focus on the most important person in your life, YOU.

2. Read or listen to personal development material. You must find time to learn about personal development to read or listen to positive and inspirational messages. You could use the 15 minutes put by for yourself to read a chapter of a book. If you drive, put in a tape or CD, this is making use of net (no extra time) time.

3. Decide what you really want to do and do it. Often we think about what we want to do and make excuses as to why we can’t do it. The reality is that the time we have taken to think up excuses as to why we can’t do something, we could have done it. What have you been putting off doing? Take this opportunity to do it, clear out the clutter. Once you have done it there is space in your mind to think about other things.

4. Do not be afraid of making a mistake. You will only achieve success from doing. In history many brilliant ideas have come about because of a mistake. Don’t let fear of failure stop you from doing what you want.

5. Do not put off making a decision because you are afraid it may be the wrong one. Nothing is gained by sitting on the fence. So the sooner you make a decision, even if it is the wrong one, the sooner you can make the right one. Practise being decisive.

6. Keep a journal recording your thoughts, ideas, feelings and personal growth. Keeping a journal is a great way of measuring your progress. Looking back at your journey. It is also a great source of material for any projects you hope to do in the future. If one of your dreams is to write a book, why not start with jotting down ideas in a journal.

7. Be flexible and willing to change your approach if things are not working. Sometimes when you set your mind to do something, with a set plan, things don’t always go smoothly. Remember that as long as you are clear about your destination, you can always change your route, it may take you longer, but as long as you get there in the end.

8. Visualise your goals on a daily basis. Better still put up pictures of your goals so that you can see them on waking up and going to bed. Our minds respond better to pictures than words.

9. Get yourself and elastic band and put it around your wrist. Make sure it fits loosely. Every time you find yourself thinking a negative thought pull the elastic band and let go so that it snaps back onto your wrist. Yes, it will hurt. That is the whole idea. Keep this up for the next 30 days and notice what happens.

10. Celebrate your achievements. Award yourself for any progress that you make because you deserve it.

Is everyone motivated the same?…of course not.  Here is an article I found that looks at different ways to connect and motivate people to achieve greatness!

Before we go in to look at what Intrinsic and Extrinsic motivation is in the first place, it is thus vital to understand what motivation is and why is it important to motivate employees. Hence so, motivation could be defined as the driving force within individuals that encourages them to go ahead and perform the tasks, in order to achieve their intended needs and expectations. In other words, it is a set of reasons that eventually drags an individual to perform a particular task convincing that they could fulfill their needs and expectations, once the task is performed.

How is it possible to motivate employees ? and Why ?

Motivating employees is not an easy task, due to the fact that what motivates employees seems to change overtime. To say, different employees are motivated in different ways according to their needs. For example, one employee will be motivated to do his task by way of responsibility, while on the other hand another employee will be motivated by monetary rewards.  However, it is possible to motivate an employee only if they want to be motivated. As a result, it is thus vital to identify the reason and create the atmosphere that encourages the non-performing employees to refresh and motivate themselves. In other words, it is thus important to try and find out what really motivates the employee. Trying to motivate an employee by wrong means could thus lead to a waste of money, time and so on, while paving way to de-motivate the employee more.

Having said that, highly motivated employees are considered to be true assets for any organization. Once motivated, they basically tend to be more productive, energetic, and very mush eager to take on additional responsibilities, and thus pleasant to be with and work with. Howvever, on the other hand it should be said that there also tends to be non performing employees as well almost in every organization. Therefore, in such circumstances they basically have to look for deal with the obstacles by going and identifying the unmotivated employees and turning them around if the organizations are to be successful. In spite of that, when it comes to motivating employees this could be done intrinsically or extrinsically by using either intrinsic or extrinsic rewards.

Intrinsic Motivation

when it comes to intrinsic motivation, this basically means that employees are motivate to do a particular task because of the pleasure or satisfaction that they get in performing the task itself. In other words, intrinsic motivation comes from within an individual rather than from extrinsic rewards such as monetary incentives etc. An employee who tends to be intrinsically motivated could be motivated by internal factors such as recognition, responsibility, growth and advancement. If an employee is to be motivated by intrinsic rewards, then this means that what the employee really wants is a job that interests him, a challenging work environment, and  the responsibility to perform the task  etc in order to motivate him. For example, an intrinsically motivated person will perform a task given to him willingly, either because he might find the task challenging or else interesting and satisfied with completing it. To say, and not with the intention of getting other rewards. This is due to the fact the external rewards hardly motivate these employees. As a result, intrinsic motivation tends to be very much effective in the long run as the employees perform the tasks willingly because it interests them, rather than trying to escape from it once the job is done.

Extrinsic Motivation

Extrinsic motivation on the other hand is when the employees are thus motivated by means of external rewards. External rewards basically consists of monetary incentives and grades etc. The employees are involved in performing a particular task is because of the external rewards that gives them satisfaction and pleasure, and not because they are interested in it. In other means, extrinsic motivation drives an employee to do things specially for tangible rewards or pressure, rather than for the fun of it. Extrinsic motivators can be either positive or negative. To say, it is thus possible to use positive motivators such as monetary rewards or negative such as threats or bribery to motivate them extrinsically. Extrinsic motivators basically focuses the employees on rewards rather than actions. For example, employees will perform tasks though they are not quite interested in it, thus because of the rewards involved with it. To say, some people will not want to do the work willingly, but rather they are motivated to do so by external rewards. However in reality, extrinsic rewards do motivate employees only short term. This is because the extrinsically motivated employees will do their work only as long as they receive their rewards and thereafter will stop performing the tasks, once the rewards are no longer there.

What is the most effective way to motivate employees ?

Having looked at both the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, it could be said that intrinsic motivation is far stronger than extrinsic motivation when it comes to motivate employees in the long run. This is because the intrinsically motivated employees will continue to perform better day after day as long they find the work interesting and satisfied.  It doesn’t mean that extrinsic motivation should not be used, but this is not the ideal way to long motivate the employees. To say, extrinsically motivated employees will only find what they do to interesting as long as they receive the rewards which can either be positive or negative. And hence in order to motivate them to increase performance, then they will have to be given more rewards than before. If not, they will only be de-motivated. Not only that, but once the employees are given extrinsic rewards they will no longer be intrinsically motivated, but rather depend on rewards to keep them motivated thereafter. That is why it is vital to try and motivate employees intrinsically by trying to explain how it will help them to develop and encouraging them by offering more challenging work, giving responsibility and recognition for the work done etc. This will in turn lead to enhance performance by motivating them to meet the long term success.

Business networking events and functions are thought to be something of huge excitement and fun for those who are looking for new contacts. Business networking is referred to as a process through which people develop jointly beneficial relationship with the other people in business, clients, customers and consumers.

The relationship should be reciprocal and equally reliable on both sides. Business networking is not about meeting and greeting new people in the business events. People usually refer to networking as a process of meeting new people, but this is the wrong way to look at it. The key to effective business networking relations is the development of jointly valuable and beneficial bond. But this is really a rare thing seen anywhere.

At most of the events people shake hands, exchange business cards and leave. These business cards are said to be the huge opportunities to get jobs or business clients. The major purpose of business networking is to increase the business profits. But these profits cannot be made possible if you don’t have built trust with your customers or clients.

Trust is the basic pillar on which any relation stands whether it is a relationship within family or with your customer. The trust can grow and become stronger if you make real efforts and be genuine. You should be true and authentic in your relationships. These business networking meetings and events are a big reservoir of information. The best business networking events serve the purpose of exchanging information between business people.

The first and foremost skill that you should learn about networking is “listening”.  You concentrate very carefully on what others are saying and then respond to them very cautiously. You must concentrate on what can be a way to help other people you are listening to. It is better than giving others the chance to help you. The world is said to be like a mirror and our deeds and actions like reflection; whatever we give to the world, the good, the bad, comes back to us. So give the world the best and best will come back to you. Listen carefully and show your interest to other person which will make him feel important. Ask them to introduce and then ask questions about their business, interests and other such questions which may make them elaborate things. People like to talk about their success and achievements. So ask them how they started their business and what hurdles they have to face? How they came to such a high rank in such a competition? Such questions may make them feel valuable and excited to tell about their success in business.

Then start telling about you. Introduction should be prepared already and it should make the other people curious enough to ask enough questions. And then tell them about your business and services or products. You should make them feel that you are really valuable and different from others. A different introduction and unique presentation of your services or products will make the other people retain you in their memory for long.

But my good buddy Mark Victor Hansen CRUSHES him.  I don’t think wanting to get better or learning something is a bad thing.   That’s the only way to make changes in your life is by doing not wishing.
